Born at Calcutta on 11/01/1952, passed H.S. Examination in the year 1967, passed B.Sc. Examination with Honours in Chemistry in the year 1971 from the University of Calcutta, passed L.LB Examination from the same University in the year 1977. Appeared in both W.B.C.S. (Executive) as well as W.B.C.S. (Judicial) Examination in the year 1977 and 1978 respectively, qualified for appointment in both the services. Opted for W.B.C.S. (Judicial) Service in the year 1978 and appointed as Munsif at Howrah in the year 1980. Got promotion in the Higher Judicial Service in the year 1998. Served as Additional District Judge at Cooch Behar and Howrah and then appointed as District Judge, Nadia. Thereafter posted as Judge, 9th Bench at City Civil Court at Calcutta. And thereafter served as Legal Advisor L & LR. Department of the Government of West Bengal, then posted as Registrar (Judicial Service) at High Court, Calcutta and subsequently, elevated as Judge of this Court with effect from 21.06.2010
